PLANNING - Pitch

For our advanced portfolio in media we are creating a music video, working in a group of four. The group members are myself, Kate Bradley, Louisa Marshall and Vanessa Solomon.

We pitched our idea on Friday 15th October to both of the media teachers. Our story is about a lonely girl who goes to London and whilst on her journey, there is an equally lonely boy who coincidently goes wherever she goes. They only realise each other when they end up at the same destination, both stood up and alone. We will be filming our music video in London as this big city will emphasise the loneliness of our characters.

The song chosen for our music video is Use Somebody by Kings of Leon. We chose this song as the lyrics match our storyline as the song is about being lonely and needing someone to want you, reflecting our story and characters. As a group we did a lot of research into our chosen genre of alternative rock, through using the internet and creating moodboards.
From pitching our idea for our music video to both of the media teachers, we gained feedback on what we should do to improve on when creating our music video.

Here are the images of our completed moodboards:

This mood board signifies London as our main location for our music video.

This mood board is a representation of the concept of our story which is a lonely girl in a big city.

This mood board represents Alternative Rock as our genre with images of bands, venues and gig tickets. This allowed us to identify with the similar codes and conventions used for this genre so we can relate our band and project to Alternative Rock.

This is a mood board for album covers from bands that come under alternative rock. Some of the bands included in this mood board are Kings of Leon, Biffy Clyro, The Killers and Lostprophets which all share the genre of alternative rock.
